for those who can't guess what this project is about or want to read more
Who am I? I am a person looking to define myself.
How do I feel about being biracial? I know that I can be part of many different cultures, but I don't truly feel included by any. The thought of being told I'm not _____ enough is always present.
Why do I feel excluded? I feel like growing up, the reason was that I don't look or act the same way as other people in my cultures expect me to. But now, I realize that I often exclude myself because I think they'll exclude me because they don't think I'm _____ enough because I think I'm not _____ enough.
So who started it? I don't know. It doesn't matter to me anymore.
How am I including myself through art? I returned to old photographs where my family was together. Using double negatives, multiple exposures, and color, I create images full of duality and depth to represent my layered identity.
