In-ho is Gi-hun's foil, but I think In-ho's also like if Sang-woo won the games. He's affected by killing others but it hits less every time. He's extremely smart. He has a sliver of humanity. It shows when he shoots Jun-ho (s1 ep6), talking about his wife and child (s2 ep4), and during six-legged pentathlon (s2 ep4). He's trapped in a prison of his own design but finds logical thrill, some kind of purpose, in the game. He's different from Sang-woo because Sang-woo was more outwardly suicidal (in part because he didn't have a family to live for). I think chance happened that Sang-woo had enough humanity to kill himself instead of Gi-hun in that moment.

Infatuation with Gi-hun. Will he develop it into something sexual? In-ho goes back in the games for the same reason Oh Il-nam did: to feel something again. He badly wants to prove Gi-hun wrong about the goodness within people and break his spirit. He sees himself in him, a previous winner who entered the games to save their family, someone with a generous nature and agreeable disposition. Principled, because he donated his kidney to Jun-ho and knows that Gi-hun's misfortune comes from the strike at his company. I think it's worth mentioning that they're both disarmingly handsome as well, as I find that pretty privilege is real and face-to-face communication, especially in a forced contact setting like the games, can change everything. But all the similarities he sees between himself and Gi-hun, In-ho hates them because he hates himself. In-ho steps in and out of the role as hero near flawlessly. He gives convincing speeches on why they should vote to leave the game. As viewers with an omniscient view we get to notice the clues he drops to tease Gi-hun which are soooo frustrating. His quip about not drinking regular milk, slipping up and using Gi-hun's name even though he shouldn't know it yet, saying the people who got umbrella in Gi-hun's Dalgona game must've died, In-ho's fake name being a comical giveaway, him laughing at Seong Gi-hun because it's like Gi-hun's playing an equally substitutable and fake role except that's really how he acts, messing up Spinning Top on purpose (I had to watch a couple times to catch that!). I love that we get to see In-ho's gazes at Gi-hun. Major incredible flowers to Lee Byung-hun, every single one of his looks gives me life. It is difficult to express the emotions of three people on one face but he is remarkable...
The pacing of the Kang No-eul/Player 246 story, Jun-hee and Myung-gi, and the Captain Park story were poorly executed (in my extremely humble opinion!!!!)
1) I didn't grow invested in the relationship between No-eul and the father because we saw them interact for like three moments. I guess we're supposed to understand that she feels bad for him because she also has a child she would do anything for, but we only get a tiny scene where she's with her baby so it's not memorable. Since he got shot in the heart, he's pretty firmly dead and not likely to be an organ candidate. I'm skeptical of whether they'll even show his body in season 3. I don't think it's believable to have No-eul kill the other soldiers over 246's death but it feels like it's leaning that way. 2) Jun-hee and Myung-gi got more a satisfying storyline as the episodes progressed but I would've appreciated a stronger (slightly lengthier) introduction to their lives before the games. I loved the moment between them when Myung-gi talks about his investment proposal to make money for their family, and Jun-hee interrupts saying "Enough money? How much money is that?". The look on his face is priceless. He gets a shock of clarity like "Oh. How much money is that? What's enough for me?" It hasn't ever occurred to him to question why the pursuit of endless money is worthwhile. 3) Captain Park's two-faced ways should've been revealed a bit earlier. As viewers we get an omniscient view of the pieces in this puzzle, so it's obvious to us that he's a suspicious character, but I wish they didn't wait until the end of the season to have him do something. In my opinion there were way too many pointless boat scenes and like mentioned before, I didn't become invested in these new characters because their relationships and backgrounds were very shallow. Korean police seem inadequate and the mercenaries are blander than bland. Gorgeous... but plotless :( Obvious ones:
