Can people justify the losses for the wins? Like in Squid Game season 2, even though Gi-hun lets all the other Xes die, he might be saving thousands of future people from the game. To me it feels similar to a doctor's mentality where you're crushed by losing patients but keep going because there are people you can help. There are as many people to save as there are to lose because both sides have enormous numbers. 

I know that our future is a matter of life or death. I don't want death but it will happen anyway because suffering is inextricable from existence. What we can change is why it happens.
